S.C.PAULISTA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Micaelense the free kick. In the 6th minute, Maurício Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Celso Luz as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 18th match minute, S.C.PAULISTA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Mazza to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in S.C.PAULISTA's zone, Vicente Sanches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Celso Luz came out of the goal and Vicente Sanches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 played minutes Atlético Micaelense got a freekick which was hit by Hermenegildo Vilas Boas. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Maurício Neves put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Celso Luz. In the 40th minute, Fernando Prado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.C.PAULISTA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 44th minute, Cláudio Madureira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Luz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean Borges stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Celso Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maurício Neves in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celso Luz saved S.C.PAULISTA from getting behind. Atlético Micaelense's Marcelo Amaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean Borges in the 96th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Atlético Micaelense fully deserved thier win.
