52 minutes into the game, Herwig Fehr cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Sverker Lindgren was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 57th minute Folke Fribäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerald Zapf saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sverker Lindgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herwig Fehr in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herwig Fehr in the 60th minute of play forced Gudhem's goalkeeper Sverker Lindgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Maik Schmeltzer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. With a little luck, SV Bad Harzburg's Gerald Zapf got control of the ball when Samuel Sundberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, SV Bad Harzburg's Frido Sandkühler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
