Aloísio de Barros scored 2-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Boni Arregui, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cleiton Alcântara made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Cordarin Alberete sent off a good shot on target. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durval Torres made a kick off. Pereiras FC's Cleiton Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cordarin Alberete in the 54th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Sebastião Penha dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Boni Arregui, 2-3. After 69 played minutes Pereiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fábio Passos. When Juaneizu Abellaneda fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Aragua FC's protests and gave Juaneizu Abellaneda a yellow card for diving instead. Juaneizu Abellaneda kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The Pereiras FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Atletico Aragua FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
