The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of SC Otten booed when STORM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matvey Berezhnoy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 4 minutes into the match, SC Otten's goal looked a bit too open when Semen Lobanov came free, but Olaf Lübke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 5 minutes, Lev Dmitrenko mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the STORM and the SC Otten players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, STORM's Lev Dmitrenko got a free kick in the 5th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Rudi Tenhagen managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Otten's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudi Tenhagen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Konstantin Kuznetsov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Vielmann in the 8th minute of play forced STORM's goalkeeper Konstantin Kuznetsov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frederik Vielmann kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Olaf Lübke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksandr Kovanov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Konstantin Kuznetsov didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederik Vielmann went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Aleksandr Kovanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of STORM booed when SC Otten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hansjörg Görlitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to SC Otten getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Hansjörg Görlitz hit a great ball. Olaf Lübke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Semen Lobanov in the 24th minute of play. Ronnie Schilder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Konstantin Kuznetsov having to interfere. Olaf Lübke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aleksandr Kovanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 30 minutes into the match, STORM's goal looked a bit too open when Ronnie Schilder came free, but Konstantin Kuznetsov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, STORM's Rasul Odintsov seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rasul Odintsov the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of STORM protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rasul Odintsov had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Rudi Tenhagen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Konstantin Kuznetsov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Rudi Tenhagen dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Konstantin Kuznetsov, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronnie Schilder to make the kick off. A collision led to STORM getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Serafim Babkin hit a great ball. If Sargon Baek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. SC Otten's Rudi Tenhagen suffered a sore thigh after 64 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Serafim Babkin fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored STORM's protests and gave Serafim Babkin a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of STORM:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Otten:s goal. STORM:s Konstantin Kuznetsov showed great skill when he stopped Rudi Tenhagen:s penalty. In the 68th minute, Ronnie Schilder made a precise shot to the right of Konstantin Kuznetsov. STORM's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. After 71 played minutes SC Otten got a freekick which was hit by Simeon Gill. STORM's Konstantin Kuznetsov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronnie Schilder in the 74th minute of play. After 75 played minutes STORM got a freekick which was hit by Serafim Babkin. If Evgeniy Anikushin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hansjörg Görlitz scored 5-0 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Konstantin Kuznetsov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Konstantin Kuznetsov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rudi Tenhagen in the 89th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Evgeniy Anikushin got free with Olaf Lübke in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rudi Tenhagen during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 95th match minute, SC Otten was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rudi Tenhagen to maneuver through the defense. SC Otten's Ronnie Schilder got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
