Luiz Paulo Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. When Luiz Paulo Couto fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético-PR's protests and gave Luiz Paulo Couto a yellow card for diving instead. Cléber Neiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bazil Aballe, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. A collision led to Octavia getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Lauro Abancens hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes, Atlético-PR's Dino Brito shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Luar Abadie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético-PR reached it. Rogério Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luar Abadie made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Hermínio Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Octavia's Luar Abadie got control of the ball when Iuri Gaúcho tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Luar Abadie managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Atlético-PR's Hermínio Medeiros fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luar Abadie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hermínio Medeiros in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermínio Medeiros in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luar Abadie saved Octavia from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Belasko Abecia during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Belasko Abecia hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Rogério Terra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético-PR's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Terra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luar Abadie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Octavia defense, Hermínio Medeiros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luar Abadie. The Octavia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luar Abadie should have stopped the shot.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Medeiros was the one to do the kick off. If Hermínio Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 played minutes Octavia got a freekick which was hit by Belasko Abecia. Hermínio Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herminio Abechuco during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute, Herminio Abechuco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Medeiros in the 63rd minute of play forced Octavia's goalkeeper Luar Abadie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute Hermínio Medeiros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luar Abadie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 87th minute, Hermínio Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Paulo Couto in the 89th minute of play forced Octavia's goalkeeper Luar Abadie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Octavia's zone, Hermínio Medeiros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luar Abadie came out of the goal and Hermínio Medeiros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There was no doubt that Atlético-PR were the better team. Atlético-PR's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
