Spectators: 7499 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Godfredo Gabon got the match started through his kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erasmo Maureo got free with Benicio Gaitan in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, San Lorenzo's Benicio Gaitan threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Victorino Nafarroa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Catarinense F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 13th match minute when Catarinense F.C.'s Zacarias Bento looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Alejandro Perutxo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Arturo Lehior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arturo Lehior in the 24th minute of play forced Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper Benicio Gaitan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, San Lorenzo's Rodrigo Jakes made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benicio Gaitan was left in no man's land by his defense there! Godfredo Gabon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd minute, Erasmo Maureo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benicio Gaitan made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Rodrigo Jakes sent off a good shot on target. Benicio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Nafarroa in the 36th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Tadeo Abilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romeo Osorio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Alfredo Pancho. San Lorenzo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 48th minute, Erasmo Maureo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arturo Lehior to make the kick off. Victorino Nafarroa took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benicio Gaitan. Benicio Gaitan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. The supporters of San Lorenzo booed when Catarinense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abelardo Lauaxeta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 76 played minutes Catarinense F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Jacobo Benitez. In the 81st minute Erasmo Maureo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benicio Gaitan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Godfredo Gabon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Desiderio Elia kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute of the match Romeo Osorio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfredo Pancho skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Godfredo Gabon in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfredo Pancho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. San Lorenzo had played much better football throughout.
