In the 23rd play minute Otávio Pimenta came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Conan Worth. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Luís Gustavo Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canarinho Atordoado's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo Souza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conan Worth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nilmar Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harvey Eslworth in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Clapham Rovers booed when Canarinho Atordoado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Rocha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tod Newell struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Nilmar Tande didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Clapham Rovers. Nilmar Tande made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Blakewell in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Blakewell was the one to do the kick off. In the 68th match minute, Canarinho Atordoado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fábio Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Nilmar Tande made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddy Blakewell in the 73rd minute. The audience was convinced that Glenn Osmond's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nilmar Tande was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
