In the 22nd minute Wilco Owusu Abeyie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Ove Stålman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roger Popken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Karl-Ove Stålman made a huge save. If Eric Sandström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes had been played when some careless play by Seagulls's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stig-Arne Stenkvist was slow to take the kick. During this time Mysarnas BK's players had a chance to rest. Wilco Owusu Abeyie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Karl-Ove Stålman made a huge save. Gerald Langenbach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Karl-Ove Stålman made a huge save. After having played for 36 minutes, Oskar Norström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mysarnas BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oskar Norström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kristoffer Pååk helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Seagulls booed when Mysarnas BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristoffer Pååk didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Wilco Owusu Abeyie notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mysarnas BK's Karl-Ove Stålman. Karl-Ove Stålman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jan-Joost Smeekes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Harry Rydelius went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilco Owusu Abeyie to make the kick off.
