But to his dismay, Joseph Rochette quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 19th minute Dominique Favrot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Smeekes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joël Delamare. Ahmid Lamouroux took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilco Owusu Abeyie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wilco Owusu Abeyie charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilco Owusu Abeyie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilco Owusu Abeyie hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Cosa nostra Lyon's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
