In the 4th match minute, La Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Hechter to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute of the match Mateus Novaes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodrigo Cidro skillfully saved the ball. 7 minutes into the match, La Cosa Nostra's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredão Mesquita came free, but Rodrigo Cidro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chiquinho Silva scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodrigo Cidro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mateus Novaes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Mateus Novaes's late challenge caught a La Cosa Nostra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Sport Club Mavericks getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mateus Novaes hit a great ball. La Cosa Nostra's Rodrigo Cidro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfredão Mesquita in the 30th minute of play. Rodrigo Cidro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Davi Rossi went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Rodrigo Cidro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredão Mesquita in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Joaquin Chucho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Cosa Nostra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Club Mavericks the free kick. In the 38th minute Alfredão Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Cidro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Cidro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Téo Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Téo Guimarães in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Cidro saved La Cosa Nostra from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alfredão Mesquita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Davi Rossi got free with Rodrigo Cidro in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, La Cosa Nostra's Augusto Eder got a free kick in the 60th minute. The audience was convinced that Téo Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rodrigo Cidro was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Téo Guimarães in the 67th minute of play forced La Cosa Nostra's goalkeeper Rodrigo Cidro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The La Cosa Nostra fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sport Club Mavericks were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
