Caetano Monteiro was out of position in the 38 minute of play, and Algot Lennartsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Algot Lennartsson really showed his touch with that goal: 4-1. Caetano Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ola Lundqvist in the 41st minute. Rune Walroth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ola Lundqvist to make the kick off.
