The coaching staff of GeRaÇãO-83 protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Leandro Costa had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of FC SZAFIRY booed when GeRaÇãO-83 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. GeRaÇãO-83's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dorian Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The GeRaÇãO-83 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GeRaÇãO-83 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
