The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 9 minutes, Urbano Eguntsenti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LegionArgentina and the S.C. Potentia players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 9 played minutes LegionArgentina got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Eguntsenti. If Job Bot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Geert Meurs came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the S.C. Potentia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geert Meurs couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugenio Cordearo got free with Naci Ünüvar in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fernando Waterreus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Ariel Ur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 28 minutes, Geale van den Brink made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. LegionArgentina's Ariel Ur tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Elias Mercurio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Naci Ünüvar made a huge save. In the 33rd minute Job Bot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ur saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of S.C. Potentia booed when LegionArgentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbano Eguntsenti didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, S.C. Potentia's Job Bot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ariel Ur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugenio Cordearo got free with Naci Ünüvar in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. LegionArgentina's Ariel Ur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geale van den Brink in the 46th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Job Bot to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Vincent Veenema hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Job Bot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ariel Ur having to interfere. In the 59th minute, S.C. Potentia's Job Bot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ariel Ur. Ariel Ur yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Ariel Ur made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geale van den Brink in the 64th minute. In the 68th match minute, S.C. Potentia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Waterreus to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind LegionArgentina's goalkeeper Ariel Ur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gregor Ranzijn kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. If Job Bot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ariel Ur showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Job Bot in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in LegionArgentina's zone, Geale van den Brink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ariel Ur came out of the goal and Geale van den Brink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to LegionArgentina getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Eugenio Cordearo hit a great ball.
