Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carlo Mandelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jens Oschwald recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Andy Fossati kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Carlo Mandelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cameron Bragger having to interfere. Augusto Furia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cameron Bragger having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when Jens Oschwald came free, but Alberto Giorda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enrico Vogt got free with Alberto Giorda in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ermanno Di Federico kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Augusto Furia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cameron Bragger having to interfere. In the 26th minute Carlo Mandelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cameron Bragger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot by Harlow Beyer from long distance, 28 minutes into the match, got Alberto Giorda's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After having played for 29 minutes, Augusto Furia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merceron United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Augusto Furia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th match minute, Zelg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Witzig to maneuver through the defense. After 38 played minutes Merceron United got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Mandelli. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Furia in the 42nd minute of play forced Zelg FC's goalkeeper Cameron Bragger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Harlow Beyer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jens Oschwald to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Giorda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens Oschwald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Hercules Brütsch fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zelg FC's protests and gave Hercules Brütsch a yellow card for diving instead. Hercules Brütsch hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Merceron United's Ermanno Mammarella got a free kick in the 58th minute. Alvaro Colecchia made in the 60th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Augusto Furia however managed to control. 61 minutes into the game, Zelg FC's Yannis Perathoner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Giorda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlo Mandelli in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cameron Bragger saved Zelg FC from getting behind. Cameron Bragger acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ercole Proia. Alberto Giorda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Oschwald, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 72nd match minute, Zelg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hercules Brütsch to maneuver through the defense. Carlo Mandelli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Cameron Bragger made a huge save. Merceron United's Alberto Giorda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yannis Perathoner in the 79th minute of play. In the 81st minute, Andy Fossati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Zelg FC booed when Merceron United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Colecchia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute Jens Oschwald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Giorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 88 played minutes Merceron United got a freekick which was hit by Ermanno Mammarella. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Zelg FC had played much better football throughout.
