Spectators: 7509 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carlo Mandelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute Carlo Mandelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Savion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carter Ricci charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carter Ricci the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th minute, Carter Ricci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Giorda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bruno Cordarin in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Expresso Ranelagh's Alejo Aimar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alberto Giorda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Alberto Giorda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cirilo Fraco in the 13th minute of play. Alberto Giorda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gabriel Eutor went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In a very dangerous position, a player in Merceron United fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! Alberto Giorda came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Expresso Ranelagh's Bruno Cordarin. But to his dismay, Bruno Cordarin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 30th minute Celedonio Ferman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Giorda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Merceron United's Alberto Giorda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celedonio Ferman in the 35th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Bruno Cordarin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alberto Giorda, 4-0. After some careless play in the Merceron United defense, Gabriel Eutor kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alberto Giorda. The Merceron United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alberto Giorda should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Cordarin in the 57th minute of play forced Merceron United's goalkeeper Alberto Giorda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Merceron United's Claudio Bosso couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Expresso Ranelagh. Alberto Giorda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Cordarin in the 80th minute of the match. After 88 minutes of play, Expresso Ranelagh's Cirilo Fraco made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alberto Giorda was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Cirilo Fraco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alberto Giorda was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Cirilo Fraco struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Alberto Giorda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Expresso Ranelagh.
