The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, Boca Juniors's Eustacio Gaskon made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amancio Savion was left in no man's land by his defense there! 8 minutes into the match, Expresso Ranelagh's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Domingues came free, but Amancio Savion reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Lop was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 10th minute. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 12th minute, Gabriel Eutor made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Quinito. Boca Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 16th minute Igor Bortzaioriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Quinito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Marco Lop shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Savion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Iker Kinsen. Igor Bortzaioriz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Erasmo Gotzon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Expresso Ranelagh the free kick. Erasmo Gotzon hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Boca Juniors's Marco Lop got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amancio Savion made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Marco Lop sent off a good shot on target. Eustacio Gaskon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Bortzaioriz in the 44th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Carlos Quinito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Erasmo Gotzon hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Lop stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariano Asier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Carlos Quinito made a huge save. When Hernan Domingues fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Hernan Domingues a yellow card for diving instead. Carlos Quinito didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Blas Maurin went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, Iker Kinsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Expresso Ranelagh's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Lehior came free, but Amancio Savion reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Igor Bortzaioriz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carlos Quinito was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Carlos Quinito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Igor Bortzaioriz in the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Bortzaioriz got free with Carlos Quinito in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the game, Marco Lop was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Expresso Ranelagh the free kick. After 80 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Marco Lop. Christian Cedro charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christian Cedro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Cedro to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Quinito made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Gabriel Eutor sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, Expresso Ranelagh's Carlos Quinito threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gabriel Eutor, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Igor Bortzaioriz got free with Carlos Quinito in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded Expresso Ranelagh left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Boca Juniors.
