Spectators: 7468 (Terracing: 5602, Seating: 1717, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Cayetano Jakue got the match started through his kick off. After a rather tough play, Juniors FC's Nicanor Liberto got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Hanot Piña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Leo Perna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juniors FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Perna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amancio Pedrueza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juniors FC's Domingos Sandalio got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Jakue in the 17th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Amancio Pedrueza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes, Cayetano Jakue made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Amancio Pedrueza tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Amancio Pedrueza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cayetano Jakue, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Cayetano Jakue's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Amancio Pedrueza was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cayetano Jakue in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amancio Pedrueza saved Estudiantes de Merida FC from getting behind. Hanot Piña received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gervasio Macario tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Juniors FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hanot Piña to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Juniors FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Silverio Machado hit a great ball. Dalmau Ganchegui's late challenge caught a Juniors FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmau Ganchegui helped the player get up and apologised. In the 70th minute, Dalmau Ganchegui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Juniors FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mateo Petrigai hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Juniors FC's Amancio Pedrueza threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cayetano Jakue, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 88th minute, Brais Salas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Estudiantes de Merida FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Hanot Piña hit a great ball. The Juniors FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Juniors FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
