The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pericles Gabas came free, but Amancio Pedrueza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estudiantes de Merida FC's Hanot Piña got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Estudiantes de Merida FC's Jose Nevares seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jose Nevares the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Estudiantes de Merida FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jose Nevares had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 8th minute of the game. One of Estudiantes de Merida FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of U.D. Mancini:s goal. Javier Mala walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Izotz Mañes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amancio Pedrueza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Goiz Calderon went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 18 minutes into the match, Calvino Lozano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Amancio Pedrueza, 2-0. After 20 played minutes Estudiantes de Merida FC got a freekick which was hit by Izotz Mañes. After 22 played minutes U.D. Mancini got a freekick which was hit by Checa Roig. In the 24th minute, Calvino Lozano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Amancio Pedrueza. The goal made the score 3-0. In the 27th minute, U.D. Mancini's Goiz Calderon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. Amancio Pedrueza was a little too slow when Calvino Lozano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 5-0. Pericles Gabas hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, Goiz Calderon recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amancio Pedrueza. Goiz Calderon showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-0. Amancio Pedrueza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Calvino Lozano in the 45th minute of play. Amancio Pedrueza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Calvino Lozano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silverio Peralta kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Goiz Calderon made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Estudiantes de Merida FC got a freekick which was hit by Hanot Piña. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de Merida FC's zone, Javier Mala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Pedrueza came out of the goal and Javier Mala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 55 played minutes U.D. Mancini got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Nafría. If Pericles Gabas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to U.D. Mancini getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Marcial Nafría hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Calvino Lozano came free, but Amancio Pedrueza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Izotz Mañes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Cienfuegos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pericles Gabas struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Amancio Pedrueza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U.D. Mancini. When Goiz Calderon came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the U.D. Mancini fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Goiz Calderon couldn't finish the play. Izotz Mañes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiburcio Cienfuegos having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Goiz Calderon notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Estudiantes de Merida FC's Amancio Pedrueza. Amancio Pedrueza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 79 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de Merida FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pericles Gabas came free, but Amancio Pedrueza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U.D. Mancini's Calvino Lozano got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pericles Gabas in the 90th minute of play forced Estudiantes de Merida FC's goalkeeper Amancio Pedrueza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Izotz Mañes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amancio Pedrueza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anakoz Villafane, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. There was no doubt that U.D. Mancini were the better team. U.D. Mancini's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
