The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Cornelio Itzaina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anastasio Salvidor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of El Retorno de Palermo booed when Futbol Club RRFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The El Retorno de Palermo fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when El Retorno de Palermo's Anastasio Salvidor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 15 minutes into the match, Egídio Dracena notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Paulo Esteves in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Amancio Urtats saved El Retorno de Palermo from getting behind. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Zé Paulo Esteves sped through El Retorno de Palermo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amancio Urtats. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egídio Dracena in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Natã Vianna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amancio Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egídio Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After some careless play in the El Retorno de Palermo defense, Natã Vianna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amancio Urtats. The El Retorno de Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amancio Urtats should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Futbol Club RRFV's Evaristo Cruz got a free kick in the 37th minute. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Esteves in the 39th minute of play. 41 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Natã Vianna came free, but Amancio Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zé Paulo Esteves in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Urtats prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amancio Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natã Vianna in the 44th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Paulo Esteves to strike the kick off in the second half. Cornelio Itzaina charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornelio Itzaina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th match minute, El Retorno de Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelio Itzaina to maneuver through the defense. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. Amancio Urtats made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Paulo Esteves in the 64th minute. 66 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Paulo Esteves came free, but Amancio Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper Amancio Urtats had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Paulo Esteves. Rigoberto Anaya hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Egídio Dracena took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Amancio Urtats. El Retorno de Palermo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 74th minute Anastasio Salvidor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Futbol Club RRFV's Zé Paulo Esteves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. Amancio Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. El Retorno de Palermo's Amancio Urtats proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save El Retorno de Palermo from getting a goal against them. Zé Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anastasio Salvidor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Amancio Urtats was a little too slow when Zé Paulo Esteves got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-5. Egídio Dracena took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amancio Urtats. Amancio Urtats dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6.
