Wilco Theuws's late challenge caught a GREEK ARMY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilco Theuws helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Zijdewind SC's Wilco Theuws got a free kick in the 20th minute. A collision led to GREEK ARMY getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Daniil Papakostakis hit a great ball. Zijdewind SC's Wilco Theuws got his second yellow card of the match in the 31st minute. The referee ordered Wilco Theuws off the ground. The supporters of GREEK ARMY booed when Zijdewind SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilco Theuws didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Panos Athanasiadis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Henk-Jan Slot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alkis Kalaboukas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Henk-Jan Slot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henk-Jan Slot received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alkis Kalaboukas came out and tried to block the shot, but Henk-Jan Slot slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Henk-Jan Slot to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Panos Athanasiadis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zijdewind SC were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after GREEK ARMY's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ferdi Dekens took the corner. Alkis Kalaboukas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk-Jan Slot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Athanasiadis in the 64th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henk-Jan Slot in the 66th minute of play forced GREEK ARMY's goalkeeper Alkis Kalaboukas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72ndth minute of the game Henk-Jan Slot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GREEK ARMY's Alkis Kalaboukas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tasos Bakasetas hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Alkis Kalaboukas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk-Jan Slot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Zijdewind SC were awarded a corner. After 97 played minutes GREEK ARMY got a freekick which was hit by Tasos Bakasetas. GREEK ARMY's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
