The supporters of Suipacha FC booed when Rot-Weiss-Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Halil Winskowsky didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leonardo Arce could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Johann Scheuerer made a huge save. After 41 played minutes Rot-Weiss-Essen got a freekick which was hit by Hansjörg Selke. Hernan Urtsin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Leonardo Arce was the one to do the kick off.
