When Evaristo Jatsu, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 40 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Zé Roberto Chaves was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Paulino Gaueko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Samuel Donostia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Corrêa in the 43rd minute of the match. Paulino Gaueko scored 3-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Roberto Chaves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evaristo Jatsu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Vladimir Valadares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuel Donostia was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Zézinho Nóbrega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Donostia having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabio Orlo during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Yrigoyen.F.C were furious when Fulgencio Vincent was red carded, 71 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 70th minute, one of Yrigoyen.F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Yrigoyen.F.C. Samuel Donostia went to the wrong direction when Vladimir Valadares was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Samuel Donostia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Corrêa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vladimir Valadares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Samuel Donostia made a huge save. União Agrícola Barbarense's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
