The audience was convinced that Simon Roche's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilbert Lenertej was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sportis SFC Baca's goalkeeper Gilbert Lenertej, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Czeslaw Bazan took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rex Marler to make any attempt to save it. In the 36th minute, Simon Roche made a precise shot to the right of Gilbert Lenertej. Sportis SFC Baca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 39th minute, Jim Ackroyd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Simon Roche stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Lenertej prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when Sportis SFC Baca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. After a defensive mix-up in Sportis SFC Baca's zone, Jim Ackroyd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Lenertej came out of the goal and Jim Ackroyd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sportis SFC Baca's Gilbert Lenertej played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Roche in the 84th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Simon Roche managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arrows Academy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Roche was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
