The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. António Branco came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Catugi FC's Davi Proença. But to his dismay, Davi Proença quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Rui Veiga took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Luizão Braga to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Viseu United getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Rui Coelho hit a great ball. Olavo Delgado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Luizão Braga made a huge save. Frederico Bertassi's late challenge caught a Viseu United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frederico Bertassi helped the player get up and apologised. Luizão Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Iuri Viana hit a great ball. Olavo Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizão Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Delgado in the 32nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdemar Morais got free with Luizão Braga in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Catugi FC were furious when João Carlos Ramalho was red carded, 46 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Catugi FC's João Carlos Ramalho got a free kick in the 46th minute. Valdemar Morais recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

After 52 played minutes Catugi FC got a freekick which was hit by Dida Batista. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Valdemar Morais managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viseu United's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar Morais was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luizão Braga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Catugi FC defense, Carlos Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luizão Braga. The Catugi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luizão Braga should have stopped the shot. Catugi FC's Luizão Braga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Gonçalves in the 59th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Veiga in the 60th minute of play forced Catugi FC's goalkeeper Luizão Braga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Catugi FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Dida Batista hit a great ball. Carlos Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Braga having to interfere. Rui Veiga scored 4-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luizão Braga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. António Branco made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Glauco de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Frederico Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Luizão Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Morais in the 76th minute of the match. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Morais, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 82 minutes into the match, Rui Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luizão Braga. Catugi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Luizão Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Flores, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. The audience was convinced that Valdemar Morais's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luizão Braga was relentless in the 86th minute of the game.
