In the 13th minute, Per-Arne Nyberg made a precise shot to the right of António Branco. Viseu United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 18th minute, Carlos Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, Viseu United's Rui Veiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Folke Smed narrowly saved just below the crossbar. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
