Luizão Braga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emanuel Hökkvist in the 9th minute. 11 minutes into the game, Catugi FC's Davi Proença nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Folke Smed made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Folke Smed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Viana in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Oldham Athletic's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. In the 72nd minute, Emanuel Hökkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Catugi FC were furious when Silas Barbosa was red carded, 96 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Silas Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
