Gildo Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 龚正朗 in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Dias. 蔡适益 came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by BRASIL.Sp's Hermínio Neiva. But to his dismay, Hermínio Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and 柯卫枫 made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo de Salles in the 52nd minute of play forced 上海绿地申花足球俱乐部's goalkeeper 蔡适益 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
