The Aves Negras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Salomon should have stopped the shot. 41 minutes into the match, Amigos Futbol Klub's goalkeeper Ariel Hernandez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Quexal. In the 42nd minute Leo Lawrence shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Hernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ariel Hernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osvaldo Quexal in the 45th minute of play. With a little luck, Amigos Futbol Klub's Ariel Hernandez got control of the ball when Isidro Gomez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went.
