Polonia Łaziska's supporters crossed their fingers, but Witold Olszewski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugeniusz Kochanowicz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eugeniusz Kochanowicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Ennio Castellini tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eugeniusz Kochanowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 55th minute, Mateusz Fink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Flavio Scrima had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Remigiusz Pisarczyk. In the 60th minute, Flavio Scrima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Bernardo Belardi fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Club Sicilia's protests and gave Bernardo Belardi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sporting Club Sicilia getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Bernardo Belardi hit a great ball. In the 66th minute Waldemar Banas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ennio Castellini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute, Armando Falcioni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Waldemar Banas took a quick shot and it went in 6-2 without a chance for Ennio Castellini to make any attempt to save it. Witold Olszewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ennio Castellini having to interfere.
