That made the score 1-0 in the 21 minute of play. After 28 minutes, Just Bazoge mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ground Control and the AFC - Curitiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Josselin Portet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hudson Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Josselin Portet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Santos in the 30th minute of play. Sacha Amara's late challenge caught a AFC - Curitiba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sacha Amara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 31st minute, Sacha Amara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Josselin Portet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Hudson Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC - Curitiba's supporters rose to their feet, but Hudson Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Josselin Portet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmílson Matos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Youri Lignon, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Sylvain Chiffoleau scored 1-1 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmílson Matos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edmílson Matos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Just Bazoge in the 58th minute of play. A well placed Sylvain Chiffoleau short distance shot in the 64th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. Edmílson Matos made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Youri Lignon sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sylvain Chiffoleau in the 69th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Edmílson Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thierry Fouet got free with Edmílson Matos in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's goal looked a bit too open when Sylvain Chiffoleau came free, but Edmílson Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of AFC - Curitiba booed when Ground Control was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alphonse Mathevet didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lenílson Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Ground Control getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Ewan Cuvier hit a great ball. When the match was over Ground Control could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AFC - Curitiba throughout the match.
