The audience was convinced that Thiago Matorin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albino Sol was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Virgilio Romano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Célio Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Célio Mendonça came out of the goal and Virgilio Romano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 43 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar de Andrade. After having played for 45 minutes, Virgilio Romano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albigasta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Romano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thiago Matorin struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Albino Sol didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guará FC. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thiago Matorin to make the kick off. Albigasta FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Cristóvão Mattos scored to the left of an out of position Albino Sol, making the score, 0-2. Ricardo Mantzio's late challenge caught a Guará FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Mantzio helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Albigasta FC getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ricardo Mantzio hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fabiano Netto during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Albigasta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Maties didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristóvão Mattos took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albino Sol. Vicente Cabral hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Albigasta FC's Urbano Bemabe broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal.
