A collision led to Minotauro getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Erik Bertassi hit a great ball. In the 3rd minute of the match Hílton da Silveira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Caetano Veiga skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Minotauro's Severino Guerra got a free kick in the 6th minute. The throw-in from Zé Paulo Mendonça in the 8th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Brasilino's Rodriguinho Abreu. Caetano Veiga made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Pedro Paulo Furlan sent off a good shot on target. Humberto Xavier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean Eger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th match minute, Brasilino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luciano Cavalcante to maneuver through the defense. Caetano Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Senna in the 18th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Frank Senna took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Caetano Veiga to make any attempt to save it. Pedro Paulo Furlan hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Brasilino's Frank Senna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Caetano Veiga. That made the score 2-0 after 29 minutes of play. Caetano Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wágner Chaves in the 33rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Senna got free with Caetano Veiga in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Minotauro booed when Brasilino was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caetano Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Claudinei Leal in the 46th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brasilino's goalkeeper Humberto Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Minotauro's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Senna came free, but Caetano Veiga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Brasilino fans cheered their team off the field, for while Minotauro had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
