The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tuukka Liimatainen during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 18th minute, Tuukka Liimatainen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute, Ilmo Kaven made a precise shot to the right of Hílton Luz. Laguna Sunrise FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Hílton Luz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tuukka Liimatainen came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Liverpool FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tuukka Liimatainen couldn't finish the play. The Laguna Sunrise FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Liverpool FC were winning 0-2.

After 52 played minutes Laguna Sunrise FC got a freekick which was hit by Willian Quirino. Hílton Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ilmo Kaven in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute of the match, Ilmo Kaven tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hílton Luz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Laguna Sunrise FC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jarbas Corrêa hit a great ball. When Nando Cerezo fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Laguna Sunrise FC's protests and gave Nando Cerezo a yellow card for diving instead. 69 minutes into the game, one of Laguna Sunrise FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Hílton Luz, was totally fooled by Liverpool FC's Tahvo Seppä, who 71 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After 74 played minutes Liverpool FC got a freekick which was hit by Elmer Harjanne. Tuukka Liimatainen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Luz having to interfere. Ilmo Kaven recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hílton Luz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iikka Haapaniemi in the 86th minute of play. A collision led to Liverpool FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Miika Vihtilä hit a great ball. In the 89th minute Paulão Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomi Pihlman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liverpool FC's Tomi Pihlman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Urbano in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd match minute, Liverpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elmer Harjanne to maneuver through the defense.
