Marquinhos Sousa started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the game, Willian Quirino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laguna Sunrise FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DIPLOMATA FC PAB the free kick. Marquinhos Sousa's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Tarcisio Rezende - 1-0 was put on the score board in the 8th minute. 17 minutes into the game, Claudinei Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DIPLOMATA FC PAB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laguna Sunrise FC the free kick. The supporters of Laguna Sunrise FC booed when DIPLOMATA FC PAB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinei Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guto Arósio hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Claudinho Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrinho Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes, Celsinho Marquez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DIPLOMATA FC PAB and the Laguna Sunrise FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celsinho Marquez kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Marquinhos Sousa took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Tarcisio Rezende to make any attempt to save it. DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Pedrinho Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinho Urbano in the 48th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulão Rossi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Osvaldinho Meireles made in the 52nd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Paulão Rossi however managed to control. Jerônimo Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Tarcisio Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Marquinhos Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. DIPLOMATA FC PAB's supporters rose to their feet, but Marquinhos Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tarcisio Rezende breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tarcisio Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marquinhos Sousa in the 78th minute of play. Nando Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Marquinhos Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, DIPLOMATA FC PAB's Pedrinho Sergipano got control of the ball when Paulão Rossi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Many of Laguna Sunrise FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Laguna Sunrise FC may have spent more time on the ball, but DIPLOMATA FC PAB were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
