In the 5th minute Santio Cabello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the game, Artur Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santio Cabello in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar de Mendonça saved Botafogo AP from getting behind. Gilmar de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Malla in the 22nd minute of the match. Gilmar de Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santio Cabello, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 39th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Passos to maneuver through the defense.
