Cercadinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Toledo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Santiago Calvino made a kick off. With a little luck, Reconquistense FC's Reynaldo Argi got control of the ball when Eurico de Lara tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Cercadinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Borges should have stopped the shot. Rafa Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Calvino in the 70th minute of play forced Cercadinho's goalkeeper Rafa Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eurico de Lara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynaldo Argi having to interfere.
