The ball went over the crossbar instead. Recep Bakırhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivón Barroso in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, BATMAN SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nurtekin Hürmüz to maneuver through the defense. If Pelayo Valdivia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tolga Çağaçar in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. José Revuelta hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Veysel Tecelli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BATMAN SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Tirant lo Blanch's Teodoro Ramiréz got a free kick in the 38th minute. Eriberto Segura made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tolga Çağaçar in the 41st minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivón Barroso to make the kick off.
