Spectators: 7477 (Terracing: 5609, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Juventudes Libertárias's Luís Meirelles started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jarrett Poirier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Trigo having to interfere. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juventudes Libertárias's goalkeeper Dedê Trigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Juventudes Libertárias's Dedê Trigo got control of the ball when Jarrett Poirier tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 8th minute Diamantino Reis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heriberto Walton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Desmond Lynch fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vancouver Reds's protests and gave Desmond Lynch a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, Vancouver Reds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desmond Lynch to maneuver through the defense. Heriberto Walton came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Juventudes Libertárias's Edmundo Silveira. But to his dismay, Edmundo Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Heriberto Walton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Diamantino Reis took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Heriberto Walton. Heriberto Walton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 23 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Maranhense came free, but Heriberto Walton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vancouver Reds's Jarrett Poirier got a free kick in the 27th minute. Heriberto Walton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. When Luís Meirelles fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Luís Meirelles hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Vancouver Reds's Marshall Valenzuela got a free kick in the 34th minute. Heriberto Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Aguiar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cido Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heriberto Walton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the game, Cido Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juventudes Libertárias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vancouver Reds the free kick. The supporters of Vancouver Reds booed when Juventudes Libertárias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cido Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute of the match, Jarrett Poirier got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dedê Trigo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Vancouver Reds players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Juventudes Libertárias were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarrett Poirier to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Silveira. Heriberto Walton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Meirelles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Meirelles in the 56th minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Heriberto Walton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Cido Oliveira made a precise shot to the right of Heriberto Walton. Vancouver Reds's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. In the 64th minute, Desmond Lynch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Edmundo Silveira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Heriberto Walton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Heriberto Walton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Meirelles in the 69th minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the match, Luís Meirelles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Heriberto Walton saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luís Meirelles struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Heriberto Walton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventudes Libertárias. After 80 played minutes Vancouver Reds got a freekick which was hit by Jarrett Poirier. Heriberto Walton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cido Oliveira in the 85th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Juventudes Libertárias's Diamantino Reis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Heriberto Walton. That made the score 0-5 after 86 minutes of play. Vancouver Reds's Heriberto Walton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Meirelles in the 91st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Diamantino Reis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Heriberto Walton. That made the score 0-6 in the 93 minute of play.
