Niclas Svanberg made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Chicão Tepedino sent off a good shot on target. José Augusto Quirino's late challenge caught a LA VIOLA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Augusto Quirino helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of LA VIOLA booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Quirino didn't get a good kick on the ball. 8 minutes into the match, Alvinegro Carioca's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Åke Termander came free, but Samuel Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kalle Nordgren charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kalle Nordgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kalle Nordgren kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Håkan Dalberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Pontes having to interfere. Harry Galle kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Niclas Svanberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caio Cabral in the 17th minute. After 21 played minutes Alvinegro Carioca got a freekick which was hit by Sidnei Mendonça. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Åke Termander in the 24th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Samuel Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ian Bueno hit a great ball. In the 28th match minute, LA VIOLA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Galle to maneuver through the defense. José Augusto Quirino, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a little luck, LA VIOLA's Niclas Svanberg got control of the ball when Chicão Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Niclas Svanberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Augusto Quirino in the 31st minute. José Augusto Quirino came free with the goalkeeper in the 32nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Niclas Svanberg could save by the left post. José Augusto Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Niclas Svanberg made a huge save. José Augusto Quirino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Niclas Svanberg came out and tried to block the shot, but José Augusto Quirino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 34th minute. In the 39th minute of the game, Harry Galle landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. During the 39th minute of the match José Augusto Quirino completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave José Augusto Quirino a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Alvinegro Carioca's Samuel Pontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Åke Termander in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emil Boström was the one to do the kick off. Caio Cabral scored 3-0 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niclas Svanberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 54 played minutes LA VIOLA got a freekick which was hit by Gustaf Ödman. In the 56th minute, LA VIOLA's Jan-Åke Termander ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Samuel Pontes. Samuel Pontes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. A collision led to LA VIOLA getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Håkan Dalberg hit a great ball. Chicão Tepedino scored 4-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Niclas Svanberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Samuel Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Åke Termander in the 69th minute of play. Alvinegro Carioca's Ian Bueno got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zézinho Vargas charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zézinho Vargas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of LA VIOLA booed when Alvinegro Carioca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zézinho Vargas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Åke Termander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Alvinegro Carioca getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Chicão Tepedino hit a great ball. Samuel Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaf Ödman in the 81st minute of play. Zézinho Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niclas Svanberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chicão Tepedino's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chicão Tepedino in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Niclas Svanberg saved LA VIOLA from getting behind. After a rather tough play, LA VIOLA's Jan-Åke Termander got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Niclas Svanberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. LA VIOLA's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
