In the 17th minute Chicão Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trey Randle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Alvinegro Carioca's Trey Randle threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chicão Tepedino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roosevelt Sullivan in the 26th minute of play forced Alvinegro Carioca's goalkeeper Samuel Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Atletico Patoruzu's Sherman Holliday got his second yellow card of the match in the 29th minute. The referee ordered Sherman Holliday off the ground. After a rather tough play, Atletico Patoruzu's Sherman Holliday got a free kick in the 30th minute. Chicão Tepedino didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-2 via right post in the game's 31st minute. Alvinegro Carioca's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Teodoro Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chance Womack during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 87 played minutes Atletico Patoruzu got a freekick which was hit by Chance Womack. In the 89th match minute, Atletico Patoruzu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Bradford to maneuver through the defense. If Zézinho Vargas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When José Augusto Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Alvinegro Carioca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Quirino couldn't finish the play. Atletico Patoruzu's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
