Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Hodge in the 11th minute of play. Orlín De la Cruz took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isac Spirea. Isac Spirea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Gerard Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Brânzaș in the 16th minute of play. Isac Spirea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Xalvador Teran in the 22nd minute. Denis Brânzaș's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerard Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's Gerard Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denis Brânzaș in the 29th minute of play. After 32 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Curcă. Isac Spirea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustacio Dinarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 35 minutes into the match, Xalvador Teran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Isac Spirea. Phoenix Strikers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xalvador Teran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 39th minute Nistor Curcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerard Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 minutes, Orlín De la Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Anderlecht Huachipato and the Phoenix Strikers players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when FC Anderlecht Huachipato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlín De la Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Denis Brânzaș hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Isac Spirea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Orlín De la Cruz in the 43rd minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Nistor Curcă managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix Strikers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nistor Curcă was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Brânzaș received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Gerard Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denis Brânzaș to make the kick off. Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlín De la Cruz in the 55th minute of play. Anton Păun was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 71st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Nistor Curcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerard Costa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phoenix Strikers's Isac Spirea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Hodge in the 76th minute of play. Xalvador Teran took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Isac Spirea. Aristide Pârlea charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aristide Pârlea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 91 minutes into the game, one of Phoenix Strikers:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Phoenix Strikers:s Isac Spirea showed great skill when he stopped Yoel Quilempan:s penalty. Phoenix Strikers were furious when Emilian Râznicu was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After a rather tough play, Phoenix Strikers's Emilian Râznicu got a free kick in the 96th minute. The audience held their breath when Ulises Cuadra in the 98th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Isac Spirea's left hand side. There was no doubt that FC Anderlecht Huachipato were the better team. FC Anderlecht Huachipato's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
