It was beautiful to see Newcastle United F.C.'s Edward Ahlqvist in action when he in the 30th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! In the 32nd minute, Ünal Yatuk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Simon Västlund in the 35th minute of play forced Hendek Spor Kulübü's goalkeeper Poyraz Tümerkan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Hendek Spor Kulübü's goal looked a bit too open when Claes Grubb came free, but Poyraz Tümerkan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Poyraz Tümerkan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Simon Västlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Poyraz Tümerkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christoffer Dahlquist in the 46th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gencalp Öktem kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Viktor Sjöman. That made the score 2-2 in the 48 minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gencalp Öktem was the one to do the kick off. Felix Fågel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Poyraz Tümerkan made a huge save. In the 56th minute of the match, Claes Grubb got a very nice opportunity to score, but Poyraz Tümerkan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Poyraz Tümerkan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aron Östman, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After 59 minutes of play, Newcastle United F.C.'s Simon Västlund made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Poyraz Tümerkan was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to Newcastle United F.C. getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Evert Ekeberg hit a great ball. In the 64th match minute, Hendek Spor Kulübü was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mehmet Ali Saltuk to maneuver through the defense. After 65 played minutes, Newcastle United F.C.'s Niklas Kvalfält shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Poyraz Tümerkan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Newcastle United F.C. reached it. Aron Östman kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claes Grubb got free with Poyraz Tümerkan in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Ünal Yatuk fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hendek Spor Kulübü's protests and gave Ünal Yatuk a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Hendek Spor Kulübü's Ünal Yatuk got a free kick in the 74th minute. Poyraz Tümerkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Västlund in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Hendek Spor Kulübü's goalkeeper Poyraz Tümerkan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christoffer Dahlquist. Poyraz Tümerkan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claes Grubb's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. With his leg Poyraz Tümerkan managed to avoid a goal in the 93rdth minute, when Newcastle United F.C.'s Claes Grubb fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Gencalp Öktem managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hendek Spor Kulübü's supporters rose to their feet, but Gencalp Öktem was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viktor Sjöman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Newcastle United F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hendek Spor Kulübü throughout the match.
