Poli Timisoara's Andreas Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Lind in the 17th minute of play. Segmon IF's Thomas Ravelli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Segmon IF from getting a goal against them. Kai Hellmann hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Jochen Frohlich fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poli Timisoara's protests and gave Jochen Frohlich a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th minute, Jochen Frohlich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 30 played minutes Jan Kannen rounded Segmon IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Andreas Pfaff took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Axelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thomas Ravelli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Kannen in the 35th minute of the match. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Kannen in the 38th minute of play. A collision led to Poli Timisoara getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Kai Hellmann hit a great ball. Bernt Henriksson hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Kannen in the 44th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, Uwe Icking was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Poli Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Segmon IF the free kick. After 54 minutes, Til Krupp mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Poli Timisoara and the Segmon IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Til Krupp hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Jan-Niclas Ebus's late challenge caught a Segmon IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan-Niclas Ebus helped the player get up and apologised. Jan-Niclas Ebus kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. After 58 played minutes, Segmon IF's Emanuel Blomkvist shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andreas Pfaff came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Segmon IF reached it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jens-Ove Axelsson in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andreas Pfaff saved Poli Timisoara from getting behind. Thomas Ravelli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Kannen, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan Kannen in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, Poli Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kai Hellmann to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Segmon IF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Poli Timisoara:s goal. In the 78th minute Jan Kannen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Ravelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Kannen succeeded in the game's 80th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. After a rather tough play, Poli Timisoara's Jochen Frohlich got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Poli Timisoara's Andreas Pfaff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charlie Lind in the 87th minute of play. In the 88th minute, Jan Kannen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Ravelli was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 96th minute, Kai Hellmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 97th minute of the match Tomas Brolin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Andreas Pfaff skillfully saved the ball. The Poli Timisoara players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
