The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Izidor Benko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 7 minutes, Dejan Filip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Dejan Filip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Bažík during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th match minute, JuSi Malacky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Bažík to maneuver through the defense. After 24 minutes, Filip Gombuš mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the JuSi Malacky and the GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th match minute, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izidor Benko to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s Grga Stroligo got a free kick in the 78th minute. With his leg Robert Palunko managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when JuSi Malacky's Antón Bebiak fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. JuSi Malacky made a substitution. Gejza Rapčan replaced Gabriel Toman. Gejza Rapčan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Robert Palunko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antón Bebiak got free with Robert Palunko in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Robert Palunko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gejza Rapčan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antón Bebiak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Robert Palunko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Zlatko Ožbolt managed to get in a good position for a shot. GNK Dinamo Zagreb™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Zlatko Ožbolt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomáš Lackovič breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
