Natalio Indar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Luís Fernandez having to interfere. In the 5th minute Celso Frutos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Luís Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Martin Palermo F.C.'s Natalio Indar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Luís Fernandez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Marzagão's Cleiton Paulista shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Teodoro Eladio but with some difficulty. A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Anselmo Botello hit a great ball. When Natalio Indar fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Martin Palermo F.C.'s protests and gave Natalio Indar a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Martin Palermo F.C.! A collision led to Martin Palermo F.C. getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Natalio Indar hit a great ball. Pedro Luís Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaac Perrando in the 26th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaac Perrando in the 34th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodoro Eladio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leonardo Vides. After 45 played minutes Martin Palermo F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Godofredo Urbes. Marzagão's Cleiton Paulista couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 45th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Martin Palermo F.C.. The Marzagão players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Martin Palermo F.C. were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fabiano de Queiroz made a kick off. Fabiano de Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Teodoro Eladio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Remo Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Marzagão's Gilberto Saraiva got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Pedro Luís Fernandez was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Guido Orlo. 81 minutes into the game, Alfredinho Quintal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marzagão's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Martin Palermo F.C. the free kick. The supporters of Martin Palermo F.C. booed when Marzagão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredinho Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guido Orlo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Indar in the 84th minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alberto Prado hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. When Celso Frutos came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Martin Palermo F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celso Frutos couldn't finish the play. With 96 minutes on the clock, Alfredinho Quintal commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A collision led to Marzagão getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Alfredinho Quintal hit a great ball. In the 98th minute, Guido Orlo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Marzagão's Pedro Luís Fernandez didn't even have to move.
