Spectators: 7540 (Terracing: 5656, Seating: 1734, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nichifor Borogeanu started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nichifor Borogeanu in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan De Geyter saved Fauna Utd from getting behind. In the 4th minute, Karel-Jan Coryn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Nichifor Borogeanu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan De Geyter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 13 minutes into the game, Ioan Ciungu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Politehnica Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fauna Utd the free kick. Ioan Ciungu kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save FC Politehnica Timisoara from getting a goal against them. Jan De Geyter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nichifor Borogeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nichifor Borogeanu in the 19th minute of play forced Fauna Utd's goalkeeper Jan De Geyter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache got control of the ball when Gerard Helssen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Fauna Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Nichifor Borogeanu came free, but Jan De Geyter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavius Amarandei charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavius Amarandei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute, Flavius Amarandei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gerard Helssen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lucrețiu Manolache. That made the score 1-0 in the 36 minute of play. Jan De Geyter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nichifor Borogeanu in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerard Helssen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lucrețiu Manolache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Raniers, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 56th match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudiu Azamfirei to maneuver through the defense. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Manolache, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lucrețiu Manolache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenny Massenhove, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucrețiu Manolache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerard Helssen in the 62nd minute of play. Jean Breugelmans hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 74 minutes into the game, Gerard Helssen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Lucrețiu Manolache was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pompiliu Pantiș in the 77th minute of play forced Fauna Utd's goalkeeper Jan De Geyter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Nichifor Borogeanu hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Lenny Massenhove left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fauna Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Nichifor Borogeanu charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nichifor Borogeanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Fauna Utd booed when FC Politehnica Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nichifor Borogeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Fauna Utd fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Politehnica Timisoara had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
