Spectators: 7493 (Terracing: 5621, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nichifor Borogeanu kicked off to start the match. 14 minutes into the match, Bernd Heid notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache. Lucrețiu Manolache was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Basarab Iordache's late challenge caught a ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basarab Iordache helped the player get up and apologised. Basarab Iordache kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. When Nicu Isăilă fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Politehnica Timisoara's protests and gave Nicu Isăilă a yellow card for diving instead. Adam Pollakowski kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Herbert Good acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 23rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Manole Constantinescu. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Herbert Good proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute, Adam Pollakowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a rather tough play, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Bernd Heid got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Isăilă to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basarab Iordache to maneuver through the defense. The FC Politehnica Timisoara players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronny Sele to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nichifor Borogeanu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache got control of the ball when Ronny Sele tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 64th minute Basarab Iordache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Good saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lucrețiu Manolache showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Sele, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 69th minute, Anton Dugulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucrețiu Manolache was a little too slow when Bernd Heid got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 0-5. After 73 played minutes FC Politehnica Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Dorin Lungu. After having played for 74 minutes, Pio Erne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pio Erne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Lucrețiu Manolache played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernd Heid in the 76th minute of play. Adam Pollakowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Lucrețiu Manolache made a huge save. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Adam Pollakowski got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th match minute, ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralf Wipp to maneuver through the defense. The FC Politehnica Timisoara fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
