After 18 played minutes, Atlético Nacional's Jeremias Manex shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alfie Nethercot came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Atlético Nacional reached it. In the 22nd minute, Al Knight hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evelio Refugio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfie Nethercot having to interfere. In the 30th minute Evelio Refugio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfie Nethercot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrew Etherington during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute, Andrew Etherington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Salbatore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Alfie Nethercot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfie Nethercot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evelio Refugio, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After 34 minutes, Al Knight mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Greenbay and the Atlético Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 34 played minutes Greenbay got a freekick which was hit by Al Knight. Alfie Nethercot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Manex, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Lennie Nelthorpe hit a great ball. If Paulo Salbatore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfie Nethercot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Refugio in the 43rd minute of the match. Alfie Nethercot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Manex in the 44th minute of play. Alfie Nethercot stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremias Manex's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Evelio Refugio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Greenbay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damon Radcliffe to maneuver through the defense. Alfie Nethercot acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 52nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Jeremias Manex. Nicolas Aritza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Alfie Nethercot made a huge save. When Moises Abel came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Atlético Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Abel couldn't finish the play. Jeremias Manex who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Alfie Nethercot when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Evelio Refugio fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atlético Nacional's protests and gave Evelio Refugio a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Evelio Refugio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Greenbay defense, Evelio Refugio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfie Nethercot. The Greenbay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfie Nethercot should have stopped the shot. After 76 minutes, Evelio Refugio made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Greenbay's Alfie Nethercot tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Evelio Refugio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Greenbay's Alfie Nethercot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Greenbay from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Harry Riad hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Greenbay's Quentin Preston got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Paulo Salbatore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jeremias Manex came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Atlético Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Manex couldn't finish the play. Paulo Salbatore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfie Nethercot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Atlético Nacional's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
