After 10 played minutes Leões do Sul 53 got a freekick which was hit by Dedé Almeida. In the 11th minute of the match Fernando Washburn shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Egídio Reis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 13th minute Thad Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Claudinho Arósio fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leões do Sul 53's protests and gave Claudinho Arósio a yellow card for diving instead. Egídio Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joey Rainey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Egídio Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joey Rainey, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Egídio Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thad Rocha in the 31st minute of play. After 33 minutes, Neil Jacques mouthed his way into the referee's book. Gualter de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romeo Dickens having to interfere. When Claudinho Arósio came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Leões do Sul 53 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinho Arósio couldn't finish the play. After 44 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Leões do Sul 53! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thad Rocha to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernando Washburn ran over to the corner to take the kick. 76 minutes into the match, Leões do Sul 53's goalkeeper Egídio Reis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thad Rocha. Thad Rocha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Egídio Reis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thad Rocha came free with the goalkeeper in the 84th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Egídio Reis could save by the left post. In the 92nd minute, Joey Rainey fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Egídio Reis, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of CLAYMORE COUNTRY booed when Leões do Sul 53 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. CLAYMORE COUNTRY were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
