Spectators: 7533 (Terracing: 5651, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Dário da Cunha started the match with the kick off. The supporters of ACF Fiorentina booed when Matungo Gaúcho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmílson Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horacio Eutor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé de Senna having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breno Velloso during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Matungo Gaúcho getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Breno Velloso hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Cayetano Berto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marcelino Sedeni's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé de Senna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. After 27 minutes of play, ACF Fiorentina's Marcelino Sedeni made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zé de Senna was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Horacio Eutor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 34 minutes, Sergio Domeka managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ACF Fiorentina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Domeka was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matungo Gaúcho's Zé de Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayetano Berto in the 36th minute of play. Zé de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Domeka in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Matungo Gaúcho's zone, Horacio Eutor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé de Senna came out of the goal and Horacio Eutor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Horacio Eutor made a precise shot to the right of Zé de Senna. Matungo Gaúcho's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 45 played minutes ACF Fiorentina got a freekick which was hit by Mariano Rey. The Matungo Gaúcho players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. ACF Fiorentina were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcelino Sedeni was the one to do the kick off. If Marcelino Sedeni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 54 minutes into the match, Mariano Rey had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zé de Senna. Matungo Gaúcho's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Rey was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Zé de Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Domeka in the 60th minute. Marcelino Sedeni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Horacio Eutor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 64thth minute, Zé de Senna skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mariano Rey might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé de Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Rey ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelino Sedeni recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With splendid footwork Horacio Eutor arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-5 by the left pole in the game's 75th minute. When Breno Velloso was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 80 minutes had been played. In the 81st match minute, Matungo Gaúcho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Breno Velloso to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Sergio Domeka from long distance, 82 minutes into the match, got Zé de Senna's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Eutor got free with Zé de Senna in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to ACF Fiorentina getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Horacio Eutor hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Eutor in the 90th minute of play forced Matungo Gaúcho's goalkeeper Zé de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cayetano Berto during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle sounded ACF Fiorentina left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Matungo Gaúcho.
